Information stored on your device

The iOS app stores your purchase names, amounts, categories, decisions, savings-goal settings, assessment scores, and reminder dates locally on your device. The web version stores recent purchase entries in your browser's local storage. We do not receive this locally stored information.

Item scanning and product lookup

Barcode and shelf-price recognition is performed using Apple frameworks on your device. Future Receipt does not upload camera images. When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts to request available product names, brands, and images. Open Food Facts may process technical request information according to its own privacy practices.

If a lookup is unavailable or does not find a match, you can enter the item details manually.

Notifications

If you choose a cooldown reminder, iOS asks for notification permission. The reminder is scheduled through Apple's notification system and can be disabled in iOS Settings. Denying notifications does not prevent you from using the rest of the app.

Tracking, advertising, and sales of data

Future Receipt does not contain third-party advertising, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell personal or spending data. The current beta does not use third-party analytics SDKs.

Retention and deletion

Local information remains until you delete individual records, choose “Delete all Future Receipt data” in Settings, clear browser storage, or uninstall the app. Because the beta has no account system, we do not maintain a server-side user account to delete.

Financial information

Future Receipt provides educational illustrations, not individualized financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. It does not access bank accounts or execute financial transactions.
